Guess who left the desert for a life by the sea? The Thompsons, that's who! So much to share, and I'll do so, bit by bit. But for now, here are a few things that make me weak in the knees and giddy with happiness about our new home state.
I look forward to this conference every year! In the past I've found myself taking more practical, "external" classes (cooking, gardening etc.). But this year I feel drawn to more "internal" classes. Here are the classes I'm most looking forward to:
The kids played outside sans clothes for the first time this year and got covered in mud from head to toe. It's officially spring! I'm looking forward to some gardening and maybe a hike and a picnic this weekend. The kids and I picked up some plants for a shade garden that I'm excited to try out. Here are a few other fun things to fill your weekend.
Ages and ages ago I was randomly a judge for a grilled cheese contest at a home show here in Salt Lake (SO random, right?!). While browsing around the stalls, in between stuffing my face with delicious sandwiches, I met the authors of this book. I'm pretty sure it could totally transform the way we garden.
There's a very good reason why I didn't have a Friday Make & Do post up last week. We were in the hospital with Sam. It was a very scary, but also miraculous three days. Here's what happened.
We've spent the last year reading through our Herb Fairies books and the kids still love them! It's been such a cool way for them to learn about different herbs and really internalize their medicinal uses. Sam was even able to use an herb once when we were out hiking. It was such a proud moment for him.
